Trip to Bali - Day 3

You must have been wondering what happened to the rest of the trip eh? Don't worry because it is just be getting pretty occupied that's all. Day 3 of our Trip to Bali itinerary is all about the Sun, the sea, the shopping, the beach, and a relaxing free and easy day.

Our day started off with the usual breakfast by the pool, with slight variation of the same food. After breakfast, we walked out to Kuta Beach because it is only 100metres away from our hotel. There were some surfing activities going on but we did not really stick around much because the sun was really blaring and the waves aren't exactly exciting so we left after I took a couple of shots.

That's me, and my bb!

We walked for about 10minutes on the main street of Kuta, passing by the few higher class hotels including the famous Hard Rock Hotel before reaching the shops around the Matahari Kuta Square. There are all kinds of shops here selling casual and sporting goods to formal attire but be aware of imitation products. Some of the labels found here are not exactly cheap, but there are definitely labels that are reasonably priced so scout around before making a purchase :) We spent about 5-6 hours shopping around the area and walked along the streets stopping by shops that had items that caught our interests. It is almost like an endless route of shopping around this area but however, we noticed the prices of the things here are higher compared to those art market that our tour on Day 2 brought us. So if you plan to get souvenirs for your friends, do get them during your day tour instead of from Kuta. It also seems to me that one would have more bargaining power at other places other than Kuta.

We went to a popular Balinese restaurant that was recommended by our tour guide which is called Warung Made. There must be a reason why this warung is pretty much fully occupied most of the time so we had to give it a try. We tried their Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng and Satay Babi :D The portion was quite large, didn't know Balinese people eat that much.

With all the walking around Kuta, our feets were aching like mad. We just step into one of the shops offering foot massages to give our feet some tender loving care. Well, it was my first so it was helluva pain for my feet instead. Didn't help that the masseuse was a man which means more pain. I only enjoyed the feet cleaning process :P The part where he starts using his fingers to squeeze and rub my poor toes was when I start getting really stressed out. I swear that the following day my feet were aching badly. That aside, during our conversation it seems that the masseuse know where we can have Babi Guling. But because we do not know where it was, he offered to go buy it for us. How kind of him :)

As the day was getting late, we quickly returned to Kuta Beach to witness the Sunset. The beach was packed with loads of people wanting to see the sunset. It was quite a sight for the very fact that I do not catch sunsets much and that the sunset at Bali was indeed spectacular.

We returned to our hotel after that and went for a short swim in the pool. It was a rather short swim, probably about 15-20minutes because the pool was damn cold and being skinny just did not help. After a nice hot shower, we went out to the alleys behind our hotel in search for a place to have dinner. That was where we went into Chasers cafe and had Calamari for starters, Pizza as main course, and bintang beer for me and June had Bali's signature Avocado juice! (Quite desperate to try the avocado juice so luckily this cafe had it, so we left Bali with no regrets!) We returned to our hotel and call it a night, just in time before the sky poured ;)

These pictures were taken from June's blog because I did not bring my camera out for dinner.
